WASHINGTON, Jun 28 (PRIME) -- The U.S. has stopped a tanker that was carrying oil products from Russia to Louisiana, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
“U.S. authorities have stopped a ship traveling from Russia to Louisiana with a cargo of fuel products,” the journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.
According to the journal, the ship belongs to Greece’s TMS Tankers Ltd. and was chartered by Switzerland-based commodity trader Vitol. It sailed from Russia’s Taman peninsula in the Black Sea in early June with a cargo of fuel oil and vacuum gasoil and was to arrive in New Orleans on Sunday.
